Modern Telemachus

A classic historical novel, based an incident from 1719, in which a ship travelling to Spain was captured by Algerian pirates and wrecked on the coast of North Africa. A French woman travelling on board drowned, but her brother-in-law and nine year old daughter survived, only to be captured by savage tribesmen.
