A hugely important collection of Manx fairy tales and folklore, taken from oral tradition and preserved for posterity.

Of particular interest are the instances where the Manx traditions touch the Irish, as in the tales of Finn mac Cool, who in the Manx tales is a mythical giant rather than a historical warband leader.
