Despite the increasing global popularity of international study, little research has been done on the lives of students who undertake it. Based on detailed case studies conducted in Australia and New Zealand, this volume explores how governments influence the welfare of newly arrived students and how students shape their own experiences with the help of family, friends, and peer networks.
