Set in Glamorgan,Wales and Bristol, England, the sharp scent of the Celtic Sea seeps into the saga of smugglers, sailors and high sea adventures during the tumultuous years of Victoria’s reign. Faced with situations very similar to those of our current times: ill-conceived foreign wars, economic depressions, radical changes in life styles, “the man in the street” and how he copes, is a theme that runs throughout the book.
