The purpose of this book is to show the growth and development of black Americans' political thoughts and ideology in the sixties as a result of various forces that were at work on and in the black community. These forces can best be seen in groups such as radical organizations, communist groups and the collective effects of gangsters and racketeers as well as the all pervading influence of the government at the federal, state and local levels.
