Having moved extensively throughout her early
childhood, Robin learned to accept change,
but her secret desire was for consistency in her
life. At the age of twenty-four, deeply in love,
she fi nally found the consistency and love she
had always hoped for. She was content with
married life and motherhood, but it did not
last when Robin's happily ever after turned
into confusion and despair sixteen years later.
With their children growing up and pulling
away, Robin found that the husband she could
always turn to was no longer emotionally
available to her. Eight years later, she realized
the marriage was over and fi led for divorce.
Writing became an outlet and a tool for Robin while working through
the questions, anger, and heartache that fi lled her life. When she started
compiling her poems and essays in chronological order, she realized that
others probably went through what she had been going through after the
loss of a loved one. Robin began to see that her poems and essays might
help others and encourage them to fi nd ways to work through the pain and
disappointments in their lives.
She continued to write, painting a picture of her emotional journey from
happily ever after to recovery from divorce. Come along with Robin on this
journey of love, rejection, anger, grief, and recovery, and you will read of the
contrasts of love, longing to reconnect, meditation and spiritual awakening,
the ecstasy of sex, love and appreciation for family, religious disillusionment,
and even forbidden love.
