Reflections of Endurance is one woman's search for identity. Washington takes the reader through battles with depression, struggles with rejecting parents, hospitalizations, encounters with the courts and the police; but through it all an abiding sense of self and perseverance and, consistently, renewal through art and faith. Sometimes startling, sometimes troubling, often touching, always inspiring and absorbing, it is a testimony to survival and realization in a difficult world.
