"DOROTHY" a Sm all little book - on paper I write - This book was written to honor my Mom, Dorothy. My Mom, Dorothy Elizabeth (Gladish) Hatas was born April 1, 1923,to Joseph and Mary Gladish, Toledo, Ohio. The middle child having an older sister, Mary (Barney Hoffman) and a brother Dick Gladish. She graduated from Rossford (Ohio)High School, an exceptional Honor Student, Dorothy loved to read and write, she always had paper and pens nearby to scribble notes and draw picturers. Her goal was to attend college and become an English Teacher. In 1940, at the young age of 16, she met and married the love of her life, Thomas J. Hatas, Jr., her future plans were set aside, a loving homemaker raising four children, Tommy, Becky, Joe and Peter. Around 1967, (with her four children grown) Tom and her decided to purchase her parents Orchard in Grand Rapids, Ohio, "HATAS ORCHARDS". They offered the best homegrown Peaches and Apples (you could bite into). They continued to farm about 10 years, retiring to their home on Bailey Road, Grand Rapids, Ohio, until her sudden unexpected death in February 1988. To the readers of this book you'll come to know my Mom. Though her writings you will learn about Her Inner Thoughts, Her Heritage and Devotion to God. Her life focused on premonitions of future events, an untitled poem Breakup of the Family, Her Death and terroism. Mom hated her birth date April 1, she was always teased and harrsed, so her own private celebration was her poem Christmas.
