The Sergeant

Air Force Sergeant Rock Hanigan is a decorated WWII vet married to part time blues singer Annie McBreen. Transferred, he leaves Annie and the kids behind to survive harsh Illinois winters in an old farmhouse on the prairie. Returning years later, he moves his family first to France, then Germany, Oklahoma and other places. Told through the eyes of the middle child, life among the Hanigans is never dull as gamblers, rednecks, nuns, gangsters and the local church ladies all get involved in Annie's unorthodox life. Sometimes it takes time to learn that home is more than just a place, that the journey is the reward and some people ain't right and no matter what you do they are never going to be right.
