Beliefs and Policymaking in the Middle East: Analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

The manuscript analyzes a conflict situation and how it can be resolved. More precisely, it deals with the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict questioning why, after all these years of negotiations, a durable resolution to the conflict has not been realized.

The thesis of the author is that given such conflict situations, beliefs can blind protagonists to coming to terms with alternate options to a given situation. In this case, she draws on beliefs regarding land and peace.

A durable resolution to the Conflict can come about only when each side opts to "change" beliefs. Change is brought about through the learning process of re-attributing and re-prioritizing beliefs, i.e. peace for land.
