Silence can be deafening. For six long years, Tessie Peterson and her mother have struggled to overcome the death of a father, and husband. After abandoning her friendships from an early age, seventeen year- old Tessie begins to realize that she wants people back in her life. In one short week, Tessieâs life changes through a series of rollercoaster events. She begins to understand that she may finally break free from the steel grasp of death and move on, out into the fast- paced world.
