It also includes two related books in which Anne Shirley appears, but not as the main character: Chronicles of Avonlea, 1912, and Further Chronicles of Avonlea, 1920. In addition, it includes The Story Girl and its sequel The Golden Road, plus six volumes of short stories. For historical context, it includes "History of Prince Edward Island" by Duncan Campbell (1875).
