Invisible on the Periphery

This is Jeff Pullen’s account and memories of the people and places residing on society’s edge, experienced throughout his nearly forty years as a painter. His recollections not limited to artists, musicians and writers but to the hustlers, street people, waitresses and umbrella salesmen as well.

Pullen gives us a glimpse of a time when these places on the periphery flourished steeped in creativity, experimentation, success and failure or of mere existence and survival. Yet while sharing this world he warns us of its fading and impending demise in the face of corporate chains, product placement and the bottom line being the only value markers in today’s society.
