Surviving My Toxic Childhood: A fictional autobiography based on a true story

Growing up in a home with a verbally and physically abusive father and an alcoholic and promiscuous mother, Jane thinks she can escape by going to the convent. She plans to offer her life for her mother’s conversion, even taking her mother’s name as a nun. When the perfect convent life she visualized doesn’t happen, Jane recognizes that she has made a mistake and must leave the convent to return to the secular world. Realizing that a return home will put her back into the same toxic situation that she left behind, Jane attempts suicide in the convent. Inspired by actual events, this book chronicles Jane’s eventual survival.
