Charles Christie was born in Kenya, East Africa in 1953, where he lived on a coffee farm at Mitubiri, near Thika. His family left Kenya in 1963 and moved to the Isle of Man. He was educated at Akeley Wood School in Buckinghamshire, UK and King William’s College at Castletown on the lsle of Man. He migrated to Australia with his brother Jimmie in 1968.
He has served in The Royal Australian Navy, worked as a builder’s labourer in Adelaide, a vehicle rust-proofer on the Isle of Man, a Teacher’s Aide at Renmark, South Australia, a cellar-hand at a wine shop in Mayfair and a HiFi salesman in Adelaide. He has a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the Flinders University of South Australia. He has been a medical practitioner since 1998. Poetry, music and photography have been his enduring interests. He currently is living in Adelaide, South Australia. He is married and has two children
