Charlie Simpson was but a small town hardware store owner, yet he made a decision in the spring of 2016 that led to the greatest political revolution in the United States since the country's fight for independence more than two centuries earlier. In changing America, Charlie also paid a heavy personal price.
MORE ABOUT THE STORY
Charlie was a simple man, like millions of Americans everywhere. He never had a strong political thought except for whom he'd cast votes in local, state, and federal elections. In fact, he despised politics and had little regard for politicians, feelings mirrored by fellow countrymen. But frustrated by the ongoing inability of Congress to pass significant legislation, he made a decision that eventually swept the nation, a movement fueled by murder. U.S. representatives and senators had failed for years to accept the depth of voter exasperation, until it was too late.
