Callahan Crossroads

Like most 12-year-old boys, George Callahan wants to become a strong man. But sometimes he doubts he'll survive his twelfth summer. It's 1918 and America is at war. Sometimes his best friend's schemes get both of them in trouble. After pondering the words, as well as the actions of the adults in his world, Callahan realizes there's more to being a man than just wearing long pants and acting brave and tough.
