Prof. Michael A. Davis was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (B.S. & M.S. in psychology). He began teaching college at Dakota Wesleyan University (Mitchell, South Dakota) and has taught at Rutgers University, Middlesex County College. Essex County College, Monmouth University and Kean University. After attending law school, Prof. Davis has law clerked for several universities and law firms. He has attained certification in counseling, including Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor (CCFC), Board Certified Professional Counselor (BCPC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, N.J). He has 35 years of experience treating the entire range of mental health disorders and family dysfunctions. This current book (Absolution; How to Recognize a Sex Offender) is a fictionalized account of real events that occurred during his 7 year experience treating adult sex offenders at the Adult Diagnostic & Treatment Center, in Avenel, New Jersey.
