The Enemy Next Door

For too long now blacks have been "looking back" at what was instead of looking forward to what can be. Can slavery be the real source of the social ills prevalent in the black community? Or is it time to look to one's own backyard for the cause of many of the current problems faced by blacks?
Street violence, teen pregnancy, and illegal drugs have plagued society as a whole; but they have had a more injurious effect on the black community. Should "the system," slavery, and/or discrimination be blamed for that? Or are poor choices currently being made by some individuals really responsible? The time is now for the strength of the black community, centered in the black church, to rise up and show itself.
