RAMSES IN NIGHTTOWN: A Novel

Ramses in Nighttown describes the life adventures of a wandering scholar, from birth and childhood in the Sacramento Valley, to education at Berkeley in the late sixties, to modern times in the slums of Cairo and the hills of the island of Ithaca. Awake to the inner meaning of his often painful journey, the narrator sees the symbolism of Egyptian religion in his own life and experience. Contemporary black and white illustrations illuminate his interior states of mind and suggest likenesses of those he meets.
