Why Freedom

In Why Freedom, Jason Junge examines the roles that moral, intellectual, and existential freedoms play in today's western societies where the basics of life are readily available and intellectual lethargy and eroding personal freedoms are the new enemy. Freedom is no less important today is it was during Roman and Nazi times; the difference is that the threat to freedom today is more subtle, and thus more insidious. It is no longer about the threat of physical persecution, it is now about the threat of moral and existential lethargy, and the demise of the significance or pertinence of the individual.
