Rare and Special Angels: Trisomy 17p

A husband and wife hear the wonderful news that they are going to have a baby. This news brings happiness and joy to them. Then the happy parents are told their baby has a very rare and fatal disorder: Trisomy 17p (T-17p) - a rare chromosomal abnormality. In an effort to understand what all this means, the parents begin an extensive research into this abnormality. Their objective is to learn as much as they can in an effort to keep their baby alive as long as possible. Normally, the life expectancy of a baby with this disorder is extremely short. At the time of this writing, their child is celebrating her 3rd birthday. The parents live with the realization that every day could be her last day. Nonetheless, their love for their little girl pushes them to continuously strive to learn more and push the boundaries of her mental and medical expectations, for the life of their child is on-the-line.
