No article in Finance and Development has created more interest that Graeme Dorrance’s “Inflation and Growth,” which appeared in Vol. I, No. 1, and has since been widely reprinted. In that article the author dealt with the generally depressing effect of rapid inflation on a country’s economic development. In this article he develops a theme that was only briefly introduced in his earlier article—the effect of a rapid inflation on a country’s international position.
