Rachel Winslow dreams of being a screenwriter, but seems like itâs not meant to be, until⦠Three years later, she recognizes her story, practically scene for scene, on the movie screen. Furious, she goes to Hollywood to confront Abel Caprio, the man she blames for plagiarizing her work.
Things go wrong as soon as she gets to Los Angeles. A young man named Jimmy, drawn to her, comes to her rescue and takes her in. In Jimmyâs home, Rachel comes upon something curiousâ"his seeming relationship with Abel. But, she could be reading something into nothing. Besides, thatâs Jimmyâs business.
She turns her attention to Abel. Only, someone else gets to him first. Ever the curious writer, she sneaks behind the stage curtain to watch. Words heat up and things quickly go sideways. Suddenly she finds herself witness to a murder. Maybe now Abel can be persuaded to do right by her. Ah, if only things were that simple.
One night she comes home to find Jimmy in a pool of blood. To make matters worse, Abel shows upâ¦unexpectedly, and while she is panicking over Jimmyâs body. Abel thinks she did it. She runs.
