Surviving The Spider's Net: A Family's Struggle with Abuse and Epilepsy

Emilia Blake exemplified the 'victim of abuse' that society has developed. And yet, she brings different ideas to the character because her life is changed by the seizures that are part of it. Surviving the Spider's Net presents a diversity of problems to the reader-problems that we all encounter in some way-abuse, children with learning disabilities, overbearing in-laws, even schizophrenia and epilepsy are part of the story.
Emilia's life is affected by the friends her children make in response to the abuse they see as a knotted thread in their parents marriage. Their action, which question the value of the story are a major part of the fabric of Surviving the Spider's Net.
