Traveling from the farms and plains of northeastern Colorado to the capital city of Denver and from there to the high Rockies, this story is the autobiography of a native son, born of German people from the Volga River in southern Russia. Though stricken early (and often) with rheumatic fever, the author survives both illness and poverty to graduate from Colorado University and go on to build his own company and spread into various real estate investments reaching as far as Hawaii.
