Resurrecting the Art

Jacob Edwards was born on the south side
Chicago, Ill. in the winter of 1983. He moved to
Okemos, Michigan in Elementary school and soon
discovered the vast woods. That is where he fell in love with
nature. Jacob's Father, William Edwards was a long time
jazz musician, exposing Jacob to his first sounds of music.
In high school he joined the orchestra and learned to play
the violin. He soon had the chance to travel to Europe with
his high school orchestra. This gave him a new appreciation
for the incredible world surrounding him, and in turn gave him
a love for travel. During this time he began to write songs,
recording them in a small studio with his close friends. There
he learned a small amount about the hip hop industry thus
giving him a deeper knowledge of the music. After high
school Jacob joined a poetry/spoken word group called the
Nu Poets, doing small shows around Mid-Michigan. Thus
began the Resurrection of the Art . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
