The Scream of Silence

Simran Joshi, a Canadian 15 year old girl from
an Indian background who discovered that
poetry was her biggest passion. She began writing
at the age of 12 and writes poetry almost every
day. Her experiences, her morals, her thoughts,
and her ideas are essential components of her
poetry. She writes to relate to people and to
convey messages because she believes that poetry
is never the author's creation but it is what the
reader makes it. Simran describes words as her
"medicine" to the pain, as her "encouragement" in this journey and as
a part of her life. She is no great writer, but a teenager who has made
the strength of words visible throughout the book.
