Science and Design Theory: Forming a Foundation

Making sense of the creation-evolution debate begins with a clear understanding of science and design theory. Science, as a general term, is a search for truth (dependable knowledge) about the world in which mankind lives based on physical evidence and its logical inferences. Seven philosophical principles guide this truth-seeking process. The full range of scientific effort and inquiry is best understood when divided into three fundamentally different divisions-each with specific objectives, characteristics, and limitations. Design theory rests on a solid understanding of applied science and the limitations of natural cause. Human design serves as the pattern for identifying generic design in nature and the universe at large. When properly explained, intelligent design is much more than "creationism in a tuxedo." The author breaks new ground as he explores these topics and the basic mechanisms of natural and intelligent cause.
