She Lived By Land & Sea

A high school girl (Anastasia) gets kidnapped by the Italian mafia who has been following her.  She is taken down south by the Godfather's order because he wants to use her special abilities for his own benefit in his criminal deeds.  The Miami Vice, by round about ways come to her rescue. (As well as members of a local gang!)  But you will need to read to learn about her special powers. What link does she obtain to a gang and how?  Oh, and what about her family? The continuous action will make you not want to put the book down till the end, and the emotion will bring you to tears.
