Exploits Through Prayer & Fasting

Fasting is one of the most important acts of obedience we can do as Christians. Jesus has instructed us to fast, but most Christians are either not aware of that or they are currently unwilling to do so. I recently had a conversation with a dear Christian friend of mine about fasting. As the conversation ensued, he notified me that God has not prompted him to fast. He further indicated to me that the only time he would fast is when God prompts him to do so. This is from ignorance and giving in to the needs of the flesh. This is probably the main reason why a number of Christians don’t fast. This man has been a Christian for more than 25 years, and God has not told him something about fasting. My response to him was when was the last time God led you to pray? Do you pray only when He leads you to, or do you pray in obedience to Him? Do you give an offering only when He leads you to? Do you go to church only when He leads you to? What about studying your Bible? Do you do it only when He leads you?
