My little memoir book has been a long-time coming. Many of you who know me are very happy the Emanuel Salaiz memoir is out. For those who know me –South Texas, friends, business merchants USA and Mexico. It Occurred to me that it might be worthwhile to share my experiences with you and perhaps, with others I have not had the pleasure of meeting. I suppose I am the type of person who sets his mind on something and then pursues it relentlessly, sometimes in the face of contrary advice, signs , omens and all. After consulting a variety of sources in order to “package” what I have to offer. I hit on a general format with room for the details that I thought most important. What follows is a sustained reflection on significant moments in my life. Some of the experiences are relatively recent. I can recall them as if they happened just yesterday. In fact, some them actually did happened yesterday (give or take a year or two) Others are from further back in time, but no further from my mind and heart. I hope this memoir ends up being long enough to include the events, and especially the people, who have meant the most to me during my long well-lived life. Also, hope this memoir is short and interesting enough to keep you reading and, perhaps, recalling along with me. Most of all , I offer this memoir as my sincere effort to remind many of you of the pleasures and joy that you brought me. I also to assure others of you that I have not forgotten life’s unpleasantness or the responsible parties. I learned many lessons from even those experiences. I have treasured the joys and pleasures and, as I continue to seek more of those, I won’t forget them. Perhaps, I could have forgotten the unpleasantness if I had tried hard enough. I am not entirely sure that I want to, though. Perhaps others may learn from my failures and pain, but more , I hope, from my successes and joys.
