Pirate Marceaux: Along The Texas Coast

Captain Odelon Marceaux is a present day charter boat skipper living an alternate lifestyle aboard his sailboat. A critical decision is bearing down upon him. He must soon determine the best sailing direction in order to avoid certain financial disaster during the approaching winter slow-season. He provisions his small, traditionally rigged boat and sets off on a sail along the entire Texas coast – the same path taken during the 1820s by his ancestor, pirate Odelon Marceaux. Can he live up to similar challenges faced by his namesake – one of the famous pirate Jean Lafitte’s most trusted lieutenants? The parallel courses of the two sailors are revealed in this juxtaposed tale of nautical adventure through their depictions of interaction with society and government along the way.
