The River Club

In an exclusive London nightclub, whose membership includes International Financiers and Politicians, we meet Lawrie, guitarist in the house band, and Federica, a seemingly-powerful Economist, although somewhat vague about her work. Both are refugees from failed relationships but, in spite of their histories, they are are deeply attracted to each other and their liaison starts to blossom. Federica is unwilling to continue with her stressful work but reluctantly agrees to attend a final meeting in Switzerland, where an explosion occurs on the first day and there are casualties among the delegates. Lawrie is unable to discover precise details following the event and is interviewed by members of the British Secret Service.
