Our Planet Earth: A Poetry's Collection

The poems’ collection contains 28 poems in different subjects, including Family, Friends, Love, Mythology, and The World We Live In. One of my poem was written in 2003. When I was a child, I always enjoyed poetry and like listening to pop music. I remember my friends and I used to sing-a-along to our favourite songs, and since X-factor, my children and I would watch the Saturday night’s show. However, I started writing lot of these poems since I started studying, I think it is because learning broaden my knowledge in subjects, especially in visual arts which inspired me to write poems with inspiring images; some are song lyrics. One of my poem ‘A Christmas Song’ was selected for song production on an online website; other poems are published by poetry publishers. You will notice I have included the poetry’s forms for the poems written using the Villanelle’s, Pantoum’s, Sestinas’ or the Sonnet’s forms; the rest is free-style. There are rhyming sequence and repetitions, and some poems were arranged in a special structure. At the end of this book, there are some notes on poetry’s writing techniques. However, there is no correct ways of writing a poem, the traditional forms I have followed are guidelines, and the free-style poems I have written are in a variety of styles and techniques. Some of the poems are fictional, however, some depicted true subjects, for examples: ‘The Colchester Castle Park’ is a real description of the tourists’ attraction, and ‘The Qixi Festival’ give real information about folklore celebration; the characters are fictional. ‘The Beginning of Times’ is a mythology depiction, and contains representation of Greek Mythology. The collection of poems about Jesus is well known too; however, the tourist character in the poem ‘Jesus’ is fictional.
