Rufus of Rhodes Volume II: Marching with the Legions

The second volume of the life of Rufus, personal physician to Julius Caesar, completes the astounding saga brought forth through Edgar Wedge, a tire salesman, by the process of hypnotic regression therapy. Rufus embarks on a trip from central Gaul to Rome on a secret mission for Caesar to uncover, and hopefully prevent, an attempt to assassinate him. Rufus gradually realizes the futility of war.
