Beginning quite young I seriously wrestled with what I saw through the cracks in my shell. Trust was an issue. Blind faith and patiently coping were survival skills. Writing it is easy compared with actually and/or loving it.
As I grew, I realized I had to stay open to experience and enlightenment. Plus I had to try to my potential to have a positive attitude. These struggles are strewn throughout this book.
As a young adult, I came out of my shell. Restrain was an issue. It was sink or swim, and I had to put my fate in my own hands. It was unspeakable; still I tried to find the words for it.
As I aged, I came in close contact with a number of people who were abused or who had experienced tragedy, etc. So I made the effort to intervene and be supportive. The inspirations from these experiences are reflected in this book.
I tried to compose original and profound lyrical imagery. I tried to be helpful and to provide guidance.
But nothing in this book is written in stone. Rather it is a shadow of an individual who was created by, and at the mercy of, the environment, like a reed in the wind.
