Mary

Mary was an outstanding woman who went through so much in her lifetime. She joined the Mormon Church along with her husband. She left for the United States in 1862 with her nine children. Her husband had come here a year earlier to build a home for them but he was lonesome for them and wrote to them to come to him the following year.
It wasn't easy for them to travel all that way by ship and then to go across the plains by wagon train. She suffered a storm at sea, a grass fire and the long ways across the deserts and hills into the rugged country of Wyoming and fianlly Utah. She was a trained nurse and a doctor and never once did she forget this in their move.
Mary's husband was a good man who did everything possible to make her welcome. He did like to tease her however, but it was always with love
