The saga of the Taelmann (Tallman) family continues as they are found in Denmarkâs Schleswig-Holstein (today, in Germany). It shall move through time to encompass the wars of Scandinavia, the 'Thirty Yearsâ Warâ of Germany, and the slave trade of Barbados. Finally, it shall revisit the colonial years of New Netherland to learn how Englandâs Navigation Act, and a Dukedom called New York, brought about the demise of the Dutch in colonial North America, which, had it not been for his indomitable spirit, might have defeated the merchant, entrepreneur, physician and apothecary, Peter Talman, one of Americaâs early pioneers.
