This early work by George Borrow was originally published in 1905 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. From an early age George Borrow had an aptitude for languages and this skill led him to travel widely around Europe and on his travels he developed a deep affinity with the Romany Gypsy people, finding their culture and language fascinating. This is a collection of recollections and transcribed oral stories taken from the Romany people he met. Also included is a Romany-English dictionary.
