The most important and intriguing moments in any Policemanâ??s life are kept in his Memo Book. They donâ??t cover his personal life but every aspect of his trials and tribulations on the job that are so much a part of his everyday life. Every Policeman is different. Some enjoy being in uniform and are satisfied doing this their whole career. Others strive for higher rank and supervision.
The actor in this book, being myself, had no intentions of rising above the rank of Patrolman and Iâ??m sure I would have been satisfied my entire career. But the rank of Detective became available and during this time I spent some of the most enjoyable and fascinating moments in my working life. And when I thought I had seen and experienced it all, I was assigned to the first Homicide Squad in a large metropolitan city and continued there for the rest of my career.
I always talked about my job with family and friends and the result of these conversations would be â??you should really write a book.â? Iâ??m sure every Law Enforcement Officer had been told the same thing but I felt I owed it to my family to show them what an interesting life they allowed me to live. And so I dedicate The Memo Book to them.
