History of the Pennsylvania Grape Industry

As far as is known, there is no single source of information relative to the history of the grape and wine industry in Pennsylvania. Therefore, it is the purpose of this manuscript to provide a single reference depicting the history of the grape and wine industry in Pennsylvania. Since there is another historical effort to describe the Pennsylvania wine industry following Prohibition, the historical aspects of the wine industry in this publication are limited to the end of Prohibition.
