It's Child's Play: Rhymes About Fun, Families and Fancies

It's Child's Play is a collection of illustrated rhyming verse about children having fun and family times written by Patsy Stockdale during the years she worked as a Speech, Language and Hearing Therapist for Modesto City Schools in California's Central Valley. The colorful illustrations were drawn by her husband Donald.

The ideas for many of the verses were developed from discussions with her students. Other selections recall experiences remembered from her childhood and her daughters' childhoods.

The verses illustrate that although the world children live in changes from generation to generation, many of the pastimes they enjoy remain the same, and the importance of family has not diminished. The Stockdale's hope the book will be a source of pleasure for many children as well as parents and grandparents who are young at heart.
