The three short stories in the book tell the tale of Ritchie Rat, the test of Ritchie’s wits and courage. While exploring the forest, looking for friends to play Ritchie meets three dangerous animals who could swallow him alive. Saved from that, his mother took Ritchie to school, where he met a bully rat called Cheet. It was hard work to make Cheet stop that but Ritchie did. He was about to have fun at school but again Ritchie faced a problem. His friends hated team sports and football matches. He came up with a plan. He took them to Mr.Hardy’s fitness to learn the tricks.
