Stems: for Piano

(Schott). Stems subjects highly concentrated gestural fragments to persistent and extremely austere forms of repetition. However, these fragments trigger a continuous cloud of shimmering sonorities in constant flux. It is the ambiguous relationship between these two states of activity that is the focus of the piece.
