Basil & Prune the Pug

For a long time, Prune the pug is the center of attention in the household. Everyone loves Prune, and life is good for this happy dog. But then baby Basil joins the family.

Prune feels a little sad, a little left out, and maybe a little jealous. He has never learned to share. He tries all kinds of things to get people to notice him, but he gets into trouble instead. Basil suggests they become friends, and soon they are sharing everything from snacks to binkies to bath time and more.

Through humorous rhymes, Basil&Prune the Pug tells a true story of friendship and sharing. Prompted by the hilarious relationship between her granddaughter Basil and Basil’s dog Prune, Vermont artist Kimalie Wassick has written and illustrated a colorful and cheery story about a pug who learns to adjust to life with a new baby in the house.
