Mole Hills

My journey to understand and know God, and to know why I believe what I believe, began with my parents deaths. In fact, their deaths surround my birth. Literally. I have always liked to write, was a member of a creative writing team at the Governor’s Cup in High School, but have never studied beyond the requisites of basic schooling. Poetry was never on my radar. Or photography for that matter. Perhaps it was on God’s. Along the path of my spiritual journey were many sunsets alone with God and the words of the bible. And a gift in the form of singer songwriter David M. Bailey. I had never heard of him but attended a concert held at the church I was attending at that time. “The Word” was the first song I ever heard of his. His lyrics touched me inside. I became fascinated listening and found solace in reading his lyrics. Over and over I read. Suddenly, I was thinking in rhyme. Just as suddenly…the world around me where I was searching for God became poetical. I picked up a camera to try and capture what was going on around me. The lens and the pen have become a kind of home to me. Practice and a lyrics class with Berklee Online has helped fine tune a growing love that I hope finds a place in your hearts as well. I was born in Chattanooga but lived my life, thus far, in Louisville, KY. the Spring is about to begin, and outside the window I can hear the winds… where I will be next, is anyone’s guess, but in my soul, I know God already knows, So here I go…
