The Adventure of an Age: Collision Course

When the seventeenth century expectations of a young man weigh him down, he opts to throw caution to the wind and escape it all. When the burden of an affliction severely abhorred by her community stamps her spirit and an underfoot mischief threatens her safety and that of the whole village, a young woman is forced to escape. Is he a wizard, an oracle, a god, a seer, or just a man? A wanderer shrouded in mystery, with mystical powers that render him marvellous, traverses the land. Is he escaping dark forces or simply chasing after a woman’s heart? He is prepared to accept the choice of the other two as they fatefully meet beyond the hill of the dead. For it is what they encounter in the valley beyond the hill that seals their fate as companions on an adventure that takes them where they are not certain of going. They are guided willingly or unwillingly by a shared trust—one in his god, another in his ability to survive wherever he wills to venture, and the other in the power of choice. These three adventurers, with the regret of leaving their families behind and the secret shame in doing so, look ahead as they escape together as far as they can toward a future unknown and a world beyond their norm at the turn of an age.
