Online Counselor Education: A Guide for Students

Student Handbook to Online Counselor Education is intended as a guide for online students in counselor education programs. Students in online environments face a number of challenges that could put them at a disadvantage unless they have a resource to help guide them through some of the confusing aspects of an online environment. Such challenges include the lack of advisement resources, the inability to connect with community members and local field agencies, and various other aspects unique to an online environment. Student Handbook for Online Counselor Education is a resource that is developed to be used across various online programs in counseling. The book will be divided into four parts and will cover the following topics: Introduction to online counselor education, getting comfortable with technology, navigating a digital textbook, interacting productively with faculty and peers, online research, field experience in an online setting, managing stress and family and more.
