While traditional conservative and liberal stances on foreign immigration are opposed, the conservative stance on foreign immigration and the liberal stance on domestic immigration are in agreement. In this speech, that agreement becomes the basis of understanding and empathy between liberals and conservatives on immigration broadly, and the recognition that, far be it from being in conflict, traditional conservative and liberal immigration policies work together, in harmony, to keep America strong.
